ABOUT GOING PRO YOGA

The first platform dedicated to supporting teachers in furthering their education and helping you transfer what you learn immediately to the ‘real world’ of yoga so that your confidence and your yoga classes continue to grow.

This online professional development platform was created to support yoga teachers in the next steps of their journey after their 200HR teacher training.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

This interactive platform was created by an inspiring group of yoga rebels who have decades of experience, tens of thousands of hours of teaching yoga classes and leading trainings in some of the most influential yoga studios in the world.

After leading dozens of teacher trainings together, Paul, Michael, and Byron began to realize that there was a serious problem with yoga teacher trainings in that there wasn’t much in the way of support for new teachers once they entered the real world of teaching yoga.

What started as a 6-week online mentorship program, quickly turned into a treasure trove of useful tools for new yoga teachers. The platform became so valuable to their students, that they decided that it was too powerful to keep to themselves.

So they set out to create something that every new teacher could use…

…and what they have created is nothing short of amazing.

In fact, what they have created is something the world of Yoga has never seen before.

About Your Trainers

Byron de Marsé (E-RYT 500)

Byron’s journey began on an Oklahoma cattle ranch where he learned the benefits of hard work and discipline. He credits his humble approach to life and present dharma to a wide array of experiences, which eventually brought him to yoga. After becoming certified under Travis Eliot in 2010, he taught at Bryan Kest’s world famous Power Yoga studio for nine years. He continued his education with Schuyler Grant of Wanderlust, and has more than 10,000 hours of teaching experience.

His classes are dynamic, physically rigorous, heart opening, and designed to help others listen better through verbal guidance and enhanced precision cueing. Stressing proper alignment, mindfulness of physical limits, awareness of breath, and using inner inquiry, Byron’s classes suit different levels of practitioners, offering modifications for newcomers and advanced instruction for seasoned yogis.

Yoga has dramatically improved Byron’s physical wellness and has helped him develop strong mental and emotional stability. He believes that anyone with a consistent yoga practice will experience an increase in well-being, and possibly inspire you to live beyond what you currently think is possible.

Michael Henri (RYT 450, MPthy, BHK)

Michael is a highly experienced Physiotherapist and yoga teacher from Canada who has worked in public and private practices, hospitals, and orthopedic clinics in several countries all over the world.

Michael received his 200 HR certification through the Elements of Power Yoga school, studying under Paul Teodo, Byron De Marse, and Leah Santa Cruz in 2020. Upon completion, he immediately started working alongside his teachers and mentors to create a curriculum to support yoga teachers in teaching safely and effectively.

He is the creator and co-founder of Going Pro Yoga. Michael is committed to integrating functional anatomy into the  practice of yoga so that alignment, cueing and sequencing makes sense and can be more easily remembered and understood.

His teaching style is simple, useful, and to the point. He filters through the unnecessary by teaching you only what you need to know. He will enhance your experience by further developing your sense of body awareness, and will allow you to explore your limitations while at the same time respecting them.

Paul Teodo (E-RYT 500)

Paul Teodo is a yoga and meditation teacher and musician from the USA. Paul received his YTT certification through YogaWorks, studying under David Kim and Jesse Schein. Upon graduation, Paul was immediately offered a slot at Bryan Kest’s world famous studio in Santa Monica. Paul spent 5 years there, and at other studios in LA building a reputation as one of the best young teachers in Los Angeles. He continued to study with senior teachers Sara Ivanhoe, Travis Eliot, Bryan Kest, Steve Ross, and meditation under Dr. Lorin Roche.

Paul has taught approximately 5000 yoga classes. He was named the #1 Yoga Teacher in Los Angeles in 2016 by the Culture Trip. In 2017 he moved to Indonesia with his partner and got hired at the world famous Yoga Barn in Ubud.

He currently leads workshops, classes and retreats all over the world, teaches a full schedule in Bali, and has released 2 albums of instrumental meditation music.

Byron de Marsé (E-RYT 500)

Born and raised on an Oklahoma cattle ranch, Byron was destined to believe that simplicity is the key component of happiness. After losing his father at a pivotal time and experiencing a traumatic spiral of events he was introduced to yoga. A strong and deep spiritual connection was realized shortly thereafter.

After his YTT certification under senior teachers Rudy Mettia and Travis Eliot in 2010, he immediately started teaching at Bryan Kest’s world famous Power Yoga studio and still does. He continued his education with Schuyler Grant and Wanderlust in Hollywood. He now has over 10,000 hours of teaching experience along with leading several retreats around the world with Paul Teodo.

The four major points he stresses in class are proper alignment, mindfulness of physical limits, deepness of breath, and calmness of mind. Yoga has dramatically improved Byron’s physical wellness and has helped him develop strong mental and emotional stability. Anyone practicing with him will experience an increase mental and physical awareness and well-being. Practitioners will also slow the process of aging by increasing their cardiovascular health, decreasing toxicity and stagnation in the body and improving the functions of the 5 major systems of the body.
